Zaka, Israeli Search and Rescue Group, Lends Aid in California Wildfires

Israeli emergency teams extend assistance as devastating fires rage across the state.

As deadly wildfires continue to sweep through California, Israeli search and rescue organization Zaka has offered its expertise to assist in the crisis.

“In light of the extensive experience we have gained in managing complex disaster sites, we offer our assistance in firefighting efforts through professionally trained and highly experienced volunteers,” said Zaka Deputy Director of Operations Haim Weingarten in a message to Los Angeles authorities.

Zaka, known globally for its humanitarian missions, has extensive experience in disaster relief. Weingarten highlighted the organization’s South African teams, which have specialized training in fire response. “With an international reputation for humanitarian aid and support during major natural disasters, we believe our expertise can make a decisive impact in Los Angeles,” he added.

Alongside Zaka, another Israeli humanitarian group, IsraAID, announced plans to send an emergency response team to help communities affected by the fires. IsraAID has been at the forefront of international disaster relief, providing aid in crisis zones worldwide.

The ongoing California wildfires, described as the most destructive in the state’s history, have already claimed at least 24 lives. As the situation worsens, global assistance is becoming increasingly vital.

Israel has long been at the forefront of international disaster relief, extending aid wherever it is needed. Whether responding to earthquakes, hurricanes, or wildfires, Israeli rescue teams continue to demonstrate a deep commitment to saving lives and supporting communities in distress.
