CBS Report Reveals Israeli Wages Increased in 2024

New data reveals a steady increase in salaries and job opportunities across multiple sectors.

Israeli workers are seeing their wages grow as the country's economy continues to expand, according to fresh data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). In December 2024, the average salary per employee reached 14,060 NIS, reflecting a 4.2% increase compared to the previous year. For Israeli workers specifically, the figure stood at 14,334 NIS, marking a 4.4% rise over the same period.

Beyond salary growth, the Israeli job market is also expanding. The number of employee positions rose to 4.256 million, a 1.2% increase from November 2024 and an impressive 5.3% jump from December 2023. Among Israeli workers, positions reached 4.059 million, growing 4.4% year-over-year.

Despite the wage increases, inflation-adjusted salaries (factoring in the Consumer Price Index) slightly decreased to 10,771 NIS, down 2.5% from November 2023. However, the CPI has remained relatively stable over the past four months, mitigating the impact on purchasing power.

The data also highlights which sectors are leading the way. The non-financial sector remains the largest employer, accounting for two-thirds of all salaried positions and offering an average salary of 14,396 NIS. Meanwhile, the hi-tech industry continues to dominate in earnings, with average salaries reaching 29,736 NIS a 1.0% increase from the previous year. Hi-tech jobs also maintained their 10% share of total salaried positions.

As Israel’s economy shows resilience and growth, these positive trends in wages and employment reinforce the nation’s strength in innovation, industry, and global competitiveness.
