Amid Rising Antisemitism, Jewish Groups in France, Germany, and UK Form ‘JE3’ Coalition
New initiative aims to unify Jewish voices amid record-breaking antisemitism across Europe.

In a historic move to confront the alarming rise in antisemitism across Europe, the representative Jewish communities of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom have launched a unified alliance JE3 intended to amplify Jewish perspectives on global affairs and strengthen Jewish life in their respective countries.
Announced Monday in Berlin during a conference of the Anti-Defamation League’s J7 Task Force, the JE3 alliance brings together the Board of Deputies of British Jews, the Representative Council of Jewish Institutions of France (CRIF), and the Central Council of Jews in Germany. Modeled after the E3 diplomatic format, the alliance aims to shape international discourse on critical issues such as Middle East peace and Iran's nuclear ambitions.
“It is our hope that the JE3 will become a powerful voice for our communities on issues that we care about together,” said leaders Josef Schuster, Phil Rosenberg, and Yonathan Arfi in a joint statement.
The timing of the announcement carries powerful symbolism. It came just days after V-E Day, marking 80 years since the defeat of Nazi Germany, in the very city where the Holocaust was orchestrated. “This is a show of intent by our three flourishing communities,” the statement read, “that we are committed to boosting Jewish life… and enhancing relations between our countries and Israel.”
The alliance is also a direct response to an unprecedented spike in antisemitism. The J7 Task Force’s new report shows staggering increases in antisemitic incidents from 2021 to 2023: 185% in France, 82% in the UK, and 75% in Germany with the numbers surging even higher following the Hamas atrocities of October 7, 2023.
Per capita, Germany reported over 38 incidents per 1,000 Jews, while the UK saw 13 per 1,000. Violent attacks, threats against Jewish institutions, online hate speech, and a rise in fear-driven concealment of Jewish identity were listed as the most disturbing trends.
JE3 aims not only to speak with one voice on these threats, but to actively support umbrella organizations like the World Jewish Congress, the European Jewish Congress, and the J7 initiative—which includes Jewish communities from the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Argentina.
By uniting the continent’s most prominent Jewish communities, JE3 underscores a powerful message: Jews in Europe will not be intimidated into silence. They will organize, advocate, and build. They will speak clearly and with moral clarity, in full partnership with Israel and allies around the world.
