Terror in Jerusalem At Least Six Killed, 21 Wounded in Ramot Junction Shooting
Attackers open fire on Line 62 bus; victims include newlyweds, educators, and elderly; security forces on high alert.

At least six people were murdered and 21 others wounded in a terror attack Monday morning at Ramot Junction in Jerusalem, after terrorists opened fire on passengers aboard a Line 62 bus.
The victims have been identified as Yaakov Pinto (25), a recent immigrant from Spain; Rabbi Levi Yitzhak Pash, a yeshiva educator; Israel Mentzer (28); Yosef David (43); Sarah Mendelson (60); and Rabbi Mordechai Steinsteg (79).
The attack began when the terrorists, residents of El-Kubeiba and Katanna near Ramallah, boarded the crowded bus and began shooting indiscriminately. A soldier and civilians at the scene returned fire, killing the attackers.
The wounded were transported to Shaare Zedek and Hadassah Medical Centers, with additional individuals treated for shock. Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos, with shattered glass, bodies on the sidewalk, and frantic attempts to seek shelter.
Authorities arrested an east Jerusalem resident suspected of aiding the attackers. IDF forces deployed to the Ramallah area to search for accomplices, and all entry and exit points to Jerusalem have been closed. Highway 1 remains shut from the Arzaim Tunnel eastward.
Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hamas praised the attack. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the scene and held a security assessment alongside top officials, including National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
Medical responders described the scene as “very severe,” with multiple victims requiring life-saving treatment. MDA Blood Services supplied 60 units of blood to support emergency care.
The attack, one of the deadliest in Jerusalem this year, has triggered a sweeping security response and reignited concerns over growing instability across the West Bank. Share this article or subscribe to our newsletter for updates.
