Jewish Actors Adam Brody and Adrien Brody Win Big at Critics Choice Awards

Celebrated performances highlight Jewish storytelling in film and television.

Jewish actors Adam Brody and Adrien Brody both took home top honors at this year’s Critics Choice Awards, marking a major night for Jewish representation in Hollywood.

Adam Brody won Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Rabbi Noah Roklov in Netflix’s interfaith romcom Nobody Wants This, a cultural phenomenon that has sparked widespread conversations about Jewish life and relationships. In a touching moment, Rachel Brosnahan, known for her portrayal of Midge Maisel in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, presented him with the award.

“Thank you for your talent, thank you for your kindness, thank you for your belief in me,” Brody said to his co-star Kristen Bell, before jokingly adding, “This is a Hanukkah present for you.”

Meanwhile, Adrien Brody earned Best Actor in a Drama for his powerful performance in The Brutalist, where he portrays a Jewish architect and Holocaust survivor navigating post-war America. “Thank you for making my very small, epic film very visible and accessible to people,” he said in his acceptance speech.

The ceremony also captured a heartfelt moment between Adam Brody and his wife, actress Leighton Meester, as they continue to recover from losing their home in last month’s Palisades Fire in Los Angeles.

With Nobody Wants This gearing up for its second season and The Brutalist receiving critical acclaim, Jewish storytelling in Hollywood remains stronger than ever. Share this article or subscribe to our newsletter for updates to celebrate these well-deserved wins.
