Kisch and Huckabee Urge Nations to Move Embassies to Jerusalem

At a global conference in Israel's capital, officials push for international recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's undivided seat of government.

In a powerful call from the heart of Israel’s capital, Education Minister Yoav Kisch addressed global leaders with a direct message: move your embassies to Jerusalem. Speaking at the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Innovation in Education, held at the Museum of Tolerance in Jerusalem, Kisch welcomed ministers and tech executives from around the world with a passionate affirmation of Israel’s sovereignty.

“We are in Jerusalem, the eternal capital of the State of Israel,” Kisch declared. “A city that we will not divide under any circumstances or conditions. I call on you to act in your country and move the embassies of your countries to Jerusalem."

Among those present was US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, who echoed Kisch’s call. “I join the minister's call and hope that you will act accordingly,” Huckabee said, referencing the United States’ historic decision in 2018 to relocate its embassy to Jerusalem. “This was a practical and important step. Jerusalem is the united capital of the Jewish people, which cannot be divided.”

Despite Jerusalem being Israel’s declared and functioning capital, most foreign embassies remain in Tel Aviv. This positioning reflects a political reluctance among many nations to fully recognize Israeli sovereignty over the city. Some continue to adhere to outdated UN resolutions that deny Israel’s rightful claim to Jerusalem, even though the Israeli Knesset passed a law in 1980 affirming it as the nation’s capital.

The United States’ move under the Trump administration was a pivotal moment, signaling a shift in diplomatic recognition. Yet many nations, including the United Kingdom, maintain consulates or diplomatic missions in Jerusalem that serve the Palestinian Authority, while withholding full embassy recognition of Israel’s capital.

Kisch’s message comes not only as a diplomatic gesture but as a call for moral clarity. Countries that claim to support democratic sovereignty and truth must act accordingly. The seat of Israel’s government is in Jerusalem. Its Supreme Court, Parliament, Prime Minister’s Office, and the President’s Residence are all located there. Jerusalem is not a political bargaining chip it is the historical and spiritual epicenter of the Jewish people.

By keeping embassies in Tel Aviv, nations send a message of ambiguity. It’s time for the global community to affirm the reality on the ground and show respect for the Jewish state’s democratic choices.

Israel stands strong, grounded in history and truth. From innovation to diplomacy, Jerusalem is not just Israel’s capital it is a global city of significance, thriving under Israeli sovereignty.
