Knesset Lit In US Colors to Honor Strikes on Iran
Israel pays tribute to American leadership as US military operation targets Iran’s nuclear program.

In a powerful display of appreciation and alliance, Israel lit up its most iconic landmarks in red, white, and blue on Sunday evening in tribute to the United States’ decisive military action against Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. The bold illumination of the Knesset building and the ceremonial plaza, flanked by American flags and an honor guard, stood as a resounding gesture of gratitude.
Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana expressed deep thanks on behalf of the Israeli people, praising U.S. President Donald Trump for his “historic, courageous and profoundly moral act.”
“President Trump proved today that he is not only the leader of the free world, but also the most important president the U.S. has had in modern history, the best friend the Jewish people have ever had in the White House,” Ohana declared, emphasizing the close partnership between Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The symbolic gestures didn’t stop in Jerusalem. In the capital’s Old City, the ancient stone walls were illuminated with both the Israeli and American flags a striking blend of history and modern alliance. In Tel Aviv, City Hall joined the tribute, glowing with the same patriotic display.
This coordinated expression of solidarity came just hours after U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed that American forces had “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear capabilities in a precise military operation dubbed “Operation Midnight Hammer.” Hegseth emphasized that the mission was focused on dismantling Iran’s nuclear threat not on regime change.
As a further sign of appreciation, Prime Minister Netanyahu visited the Western Wall on Sunday. There, he and his wife prayed for the safety of Israeli forces and recited a special prayer for President Trump, known in Hebrew as Hanoten teshuah “He who grants deliverance.” They also prayed for the remaining 50 hostages held by Hamas, who have now been in captivity for 626 days.
The events of the day reaffirmed the strength of the U.S.-Israel alliance, built on shared values and mutual resolve. As Israel faces down threats in a volatile region, the unwavering support of its American ally remains a cornerstone of its national security.
