Robert Kraft Launches Antisemitism Awareness Ad During NBA Playoffs

The ad campaign aims to combat hate at anti-Israel protests, emphasizing respectful expression.

In an impactful move during the NBA playoffs, Robert Kraft’s Foundation to Combat Antisemitism will broadcast a poignant advertisement addressing the surge of antisemitic sentiment at recent anti-Israel protests across U.S. college campuses. The ad, airing Tuesday, seeks to remind protesters that while passion and activism are valid, hate speech and antisemitism are unacceptable.

The 30-second spot features a calm, authoritative female voice urging protesters to express their views without resorting to hate: “Bring your passion, your tenacity, bring your anger – but don’t bring hate to the protests.” It starkly showcases signs from protests equating Jews with Nazis and calling for violence, juxtaposed with images of distressed students affected by such hateful rhetoric.

The message is clear: “Scream until you’re red in the face. But don’t scream at the Jewish kid walking to class. Threaten to change history, but don’t threaten your Jewish neighbor. Draw a line in the sand, but don’t draw a swastika. Because bringing more hate to anyone brings more hate to everyone.”

Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots and a staunch supporter of Israel, has been vocal about his concerns regarding the climate of intolerance and radicalization in academic settings, particularly at his alma mater, Columbia University. He criticizes the faculty's role in fostering a divisive atmosphere and has ceased his donations to the university, redirecting his support to Columbia's Hillel Center for Jewish Life.

This initiative comes in response to several disturbing incidents at Columbia and other universities, where pro-Palestinian demonstrations have reportedly spiraled into antisemitic threats and actions. These include unlawful encampments and aggressive protests that have resulted in police intervention and arrests, revealing a significant influence of external agitators linked to pro-terrorist groups and extreme leftist organizations.

Kraft’s ad campaign is not just a critique but a call to action, demanding accountability and a return to respectful discourse on campuses. This effort underscores the necessity of distinguishing between legitimate political protest and hate-driven actions, aiming to foster a safer and more inclusive environment for all students.
