Suspect Arrested Over Threats Against Netanyahu

A suspect allegedly vowed to shoot the prime minister quick legal action follows.

Just before the onset of Rosh Hashanah, Israeli police moved swiftly to arrest a man in his 40s who brazenly threatened to assassinate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The suspect walked into a Kiryat Gat police station and declared his intent to obtain a firearm and shoot Netanyahu three times.

Authorities immediately detained and interrogated him. Prosecutors are preparing a fast‑track indictment today and will ask that he remain in custody for the duration of legal proceedings.

This alarming incident is not isolated. In July, Tamar Gershoni, a 74‑year‑old known to act within anti‑government protest circles, was arrested and indicted for plotting to use an explosive device in an attempt to kill the prime minister. She is accused of conspiring to carry out terrorism, seeking weapons, and probing security arrangements.

Israel’s security services have made clear that threats against its leaders will be addressed with urgency and resolve. In a volatile moment for the state, the swift arrest underscores Israel’s commitment to protecting its institutions and its people from violence and intimidation.

Let this stand as a reminder: Israel will not bow to terror or threats. If you stand with that resolve, share this story or subscribe to our newsletter for updates.
