During Israel Visit, Boxing Legend Calls Wounded IDF Soldiers ‘Brave Warriors, True Heroes’
Mayweather’s Powerful Message of Support Brings Inspiration to Israeli Soldiers.
In a display of solidarity and respect, undefeated boxing champion Floyd Mayweather recently visited Israel to support its people and those on the front lines amid the ongoing conflict with Hamas in Gaza. Known globally for his prowess in the ring, Mayweather took time to connect with Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers who have been injured in combat, paying heartfelt tribute to their courage and commitment.
During his visit to Hadassah Hospital, where many wounded soldiers receive treatment, Mayweather expressed admiration for the IDF soldiers he met, describing the experience as “deeply emotional.” Sharing photos and a heartfelt message on social media, he wrote, “Witnessing the strength and courage of these brave heroes was truly inspiring. May God bless them all.” His words resonated widely, with the post quickly gaining support and spreading his powerful message of unity and compassion.
Mayweather also visited the Belev Echad rehabilitation center in Kiryat Ono, where he personally thanked soldiers for their sacrifice. “You guys are brave warriors, I take my hat off to everyone in here that goes on that battlefield,” he told them. “Everyone can’t do your job, just like everyone can’t do my job.” The boxing legend encouraged the soldiers to remain proud of their service and assured them, “Hold your head up high and just know every day is a blessing… You guys are true heroes and warriors, and I’m behind you guys 100 percent.”
In addition to meeting with soldiers, Mayweather took time to engage with staff at the Belev Echad center, which praised him for providing uplifting words of encouragement, emphasizing the importance of resilience both “in and out of the ring.”
This is Mayweather’s fourth trip to Israel since the start of the war following the October 7 Hamas attacks, marking his commitment to stand with the Jewish state during these difficult times. Shortly after arriving this week, he noted that Israel “feels like home away from home,” thanking the welcoming team at Ben Gurion Airport and promising that his visit would be filled with actions of support.
Mayweather has not only shown moral support but has taken substantial steps to aid Israel since the onset of the conflict. He was one of the first public figures outside of Israel to send essential supplies, including medical equipment, food, and protective gear, to IDF soldiers. Recently, he also pledged $100,000 to United Hatzalah of Israel, a leading emergency medical service organization, enabling them to purchase 100 bulletproof vests for its dedicated volunteers who work in high-risk areas.
During his latest stay, the boxing champion made several other stops, including a visit to the Western Wall, the US embassy, and Sha’arei Mevaseret Zion, an Orthodox yeshiva. At each location, he received a warm welcome and took the opportunity to voice his support for the Jewish people and the state of Israel, saying he would continue to be a steadfast ally.
In recognition of his unwavering support, JB Jewelers in Israel honored Mayweather with a limited-edition $20,000 watch in Israeli colors, marking the 75th anniversary of Israel’s independence. The thoughtful gift, which features an image of the Israeli flag on the back, commemorates a moment of unity and mutual appreciation between Israel and the athlete.
As Mayweather’s trip continues to make headlines, his actions are a reminder of the power of solidarity and the importance of international support. His visit, both humbling and inspiring, has strengthened the resolve of many who stand with Israel and uplifted those who need encouragement the most.
Israel remains grateful for the support it receives from all corners of the world. Mayweather’s words of encouragement are just one example of how friends of Israel continue to stand beside the country in times of both challenge and triumph.
