Michael Mizrachi wins World Series of Poker Main Even

Israeli-American legend claims $10 million prize and celebrates victory with Israeli pride.

Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi, one of the greatest names in poker history, has captured the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, claiming the $10 million top prize and his eighth WSOP bracelet in an unforgettable victory marked by both skill and heritage.

The 44-year-old Israeli-American poker star, known for his aggressive and fearless style, dominated the 10-day marathon tournament with a $10,000 buy-in and more than 9,700 players. Mizrachi entered the final table with a commanding chip lead and sealed the win in just 80 hands the shortest final table in a decade defeating John Wasnock, who took home $6 million for second place.

For Mizrachi, the Main Event title was the last milestone in an already legendary career. Just weeks before this historic win, he captured his fourth $50,000 Poker Players Championship title, a mixed-variant event widely regarded as the ultimate test of poker skill, earning $1.3 million and cementing his reputation as one of the game’s most versatile players.

“This is the best day of my life,” Mizrachi said after hoisting the WSOP Main Event trophy. “The main event was the last thing on my list. Now, I feel complete.”

Mizrachi’s Israeli roots were front and center throughout the tournament. Born to an Israeli father and raised in a Jewish family in Miami, he proudly displayed an Israeli flag tattoo on his left arm and wore a dog tag honoring the Israeli hostages held by Hamas. Earlier this summer, following his Poker Players Championship win, he even requested that “Hatikvah,” Israel’s national anthem, be played in celebration a moment that resonated deeply with Israeli fans.

“Representing my heritage is a big part of who I am,” Mizrachi has often said. “I carry Israel with me everywhere I go.”

Poker success runs in the Mizrachi family. His older brother, Robert Mizrachi, is also a five-time WSOP bracelet winner. Both brothers are celebrated not just for their mastery of the game, but also for their connection to Israel, proudly waving its flag during their victories.

With more than $29 million in live tournament earnings over a two-decade career, Mizrachi’s journey began in the early 2000s during the boom of televised poker. His fearless, high-pressure style earned him worldwide recognition, and his deep run in the 2010 WSOP Main Event finishing fifth for $2.5 million was a glimpse of the greatness that would come.

Following his 2025 triumph, Mizrachi was immediately announced as an inductee into the Poker Hall of Fame, joining the ranks of the game’s all-time legends.

Mizrachi’s win is more than just a personal triumph it’s a celebration of perseverance, heritage, and excellence. With eight WSOP bracelets, the Main Event crown, and an enduring passion for the game, Mizrachi remains an icon who carries both Israel and the poker world on his shoulders.
