Michael Rapaport Warns American Jews ‘The Cavalry Isn’t Coming’

Jewish comedian urges community to defend itself amid rising antisemitism and global silence.

In a powerful and emotional podcast episode, Jewish actor and comedian Michael Rapaport delivered a stark message to American Jews: stop waiting for someone else to speak up. “The cavalry ain’t coming,” he warned, responding to the alarming rise in antisemitic violence and the deafening silence from much of the world.

Rapaport, a longtime vocal supporter of Israel and advocate for the release of Hamas-held hostages, took to his show I Am Rapaport to vent his frustration. He condemned the indifference shown by many in the face of attacks targeting Jews in the United States most recently the firebombing in Boulder, Colorado, and the fatal shooting of two Israeli Embassy employees at the Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C.

“These people don’t give a f--k,” he said bluntly. “Don’t you feel like an a--hole now for putting up a black square during Black Lives Matter when nobody is coming and saying anything on our behalf?”

Rapaport’s words reflect a growing sense of disillusionment among American Jews who feel increasingly isolated. While they have often stood in solidarity with other marginalized communities, that solidarity has rarely been reciprocated especially in the face of rising antisemitism tied to anti-Israel activism.

“There’s no comments, no DMs, no tweets, no texts. They’re not doing s--t,” Rapaport continued, urging Jews to face reality and begin taking action to protect themselves and their community.

His comments struck a nerve as they were released amid a backdrop of escalating threats and violence. In Boulder, an Egyptian national living illegally in the U.S. attacked Jewish demonstrators with a flamethrower and Molotov cocktails. Days earlier, a gunman murdered two young Israelis just for being Jewish.

These aren’t isolated incidents they are a reflection of a growing global problem that has reached the streets of America. Rapaport’s raw honesty is a wake-up call: advocacy begins with us.
