Mike Huckabee Honored in Jerusalem at Independence Day Tribute
US ambassador receives Lifesaving Award as he praises Israel's strength, unity, and commitment to saving lives amidst growing regional threats.

During a moving Independence Day event hosted by United Hatzalah in Jerusalem, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee delivered a rousing tribute to the State of Israel, its people, and its values. Held at the Museum of Tolerance, the celebration marked Israel’s 77th year of independence and brought together dignitaries, philanthropists, and leaders from around the world.
In his remarks, Huckabee delivered a solemn warning about the persistent danger posed by Iran, declaring, “Somewhere tonight in Tehran, the supreme leader is probably meeting with the key people around him, and they are discussing what they have been talking about for 46 years how to murder everyone in Israel and all the people of Israel.”
Contrasting this darkness with the values of the Jewish state, he added, “We should take them seriously. While they're speaking tonight about death, destruction and darkness, we're sitting here, and we're talking about how to bring life.”
Huckabee praised Israel’s moral clarity and its unwavering commitment to saving lives, referencing United Hatzalah’s ethos: “There can be no hate when you’re trying to save a human life.” He underscored the organization’s unique model of emergency medical response where Jewish, Arab, Christian, and Druze volunteers serve side by side declaring that in Israel, “what matters is that when [people] have a life-threatening emergency, a volunteer is rapidly on his or her way to save their lives.”
United Hatzalah President and Founder Eli Beer presented Huckabee with the prestigious 2025 Lifesaving Award, honoring his steadfast support for the Jewish state and his advocacy for Israel on the international stage. The Jerusalem Award was also presented to Larry A. Mizel, Chairman of the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem, for his enduring philanthropic efforts.
Attendees included prominent figures such as Dr. Miriam Adelson, philanthropist Sylvan Adams, and Pastor John Hagee, all of whom share deep ties to Israel and its mission of protecting life and liberty.
Throughout the evening, the message was clear while Israel faces threats from hostile regimes and global defamation, its heart beats stronger than ever with unity, purpose, and compassion. Huckabee’s words reaffirmed what Israelis live every day: that despite the dangers, the nation continues to rise, anchored in faith, resilience, and the sacred value of life.
