Netanyahu Denounces Conspiracies Linking Israel to Charlie Kirk Assassination

Prime minister calls rumors “monstrous lies,” honors Kirk as a steadfast friend of Israel and defender of Judeo-Christian values.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu strongly condemned conspiracy theories attempting to link Israel to the assassination of American conservative commentator and Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk, calling them “monstrous lies.”

“Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi propaganda minister, said that the bigger the lie, the faster it will spread,” Netanyahu said in a Thursday morning address shared on X/Twitter. “Well, somebody has fabricated a monstrous, big lie that Israel had something to do with Charlie Kirk’s horrific murder. This is insane. It is false. It is outrageous.”

Netanyahu described Kirk as “a giant, a once-in-a-century talent who defended freedom, defended America, and defended our common Judeo-Christian civilization.”

The prime minister revealed that Kirk had personally expressed his deep affection for Israel and the Jewish people in recent conversations. “One of his greatest pleasures was engaging in Israel advocacy and forming alliances with Jews to protect Judeo-Christian civilization,” Netanyahu recalled.

According to Netanyahu, Kirk had urged him to speak directly to the American people about the importance of Israel to U.S. national security. “‘The Holy Land is so important to my life,’ he told me. ‘It pains me to see support for Israel slip away.’”

Netanyahu added that while Kirk did not always agree with Israeli policies, his criticism was genuine and rooted in the values of free debate. “That was the essence of Charlie Kirk a free man in a free country,” he said.

The prime minister also disclosed that just weeks before the assassination, he had invited Kirk to visit Israel. He denounced those spreading conspiracy theories, suggesting some may be driven by obsession or foreign funding. “What I do know is this: Charlie Kirk was a great man. And a great man deserves honor, not lies. Rest in peace, Charlie Kirk, may your memory be a blessing.”

Kirk was assassinated on September 10, 2025, during a speaking event at Utah Valley University. His death has reverberated deeply among supporters of Israel, who remember him as an outspoken advocate of the Jewish state.

Israel’s leadership has made clear that such conspiracies will not be allowed to tarnish the legacy of a man who stood proudly with the Jewish people. Share this article or subscribe to our newsletter for more updates on Israel’s fight against misinformation and antisemitism.
