Netanyahu Warns Iran of Severe Response Ahead of Trump Meeting
Israel prepares for possible Iranian strike as Tehran escalates drills and nuclear ambitions just months after June’s war.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a stark message to Iran on Monday, warning that any hostile action against Israel would be met with a “very severe response.” Speaking in Jerusalem during a high-level summit with the leaders of Greece and Cyprus, the premier made clear that Israel is watching recent Iranian military activities closely and is fully prepared to defend itself.
Referring to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ latest missile exercises, Netanyahu stated, “We are following this and we are making the necessary preparations. I want to make it clear to Iran here any action against Israel will be met with a very severe response.”
The comments come amid rising tension in the region and just days before Netanyahu’s scheduled meeting with former U.S. President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago. The Israeli leader confirmed that Iran will be a key topic in the meeting, emphasizing Israel’s desire for “stability, prosperity and peace,” not confrontation.
But peace comes with clear expectations. Netanyahu referenced June’s 12-day war with Iran, during which joint Israeli-American operations inflicted significant damage on Tehran’s nuclear and military infrastructure. “Our basic expectations from Iran have not changed,” he said, pointing to demands for reduced uranium enrichment, an end to proxy warfare, and a halt to regional aggression policies now shared by both Jerusalem and Washington.
Echoing those concerns, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee warned this week that Iran’s aggressive posturing threatens not only Israel but the entire Western world. Speaking from the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, Huckabee suggested Iran didn’t fully grasp Trump’s earlier military warnings especially the strategic B-2 strike on Fordow, Iran’s underground nuclear facility.
“They appear to be trying to reconstitute and find a new way to dig the hole deeper, secure it more,” Huckabee said, criticizing the Islamic regime’s persistence. He praised the recent reimposition of snapback sanctions on Iran, calling for even stronger economic measures to “choke off Iran’s ability to do what they’re trying to do.”
Huckabee also reminded the public that the Iranian regime has spent the past 46 years threatening both Israel and the United States, consistently chanting “Death to Israel, death to America” since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
“Israel is only the appetizer,” he warned. “Their ultimate goal is to destroy the United States… to take down Western civilization itself.”
As Iran inches closer to reestablishing its nuclear program and continues threatening both its neighbors and global stability, Israel is once again stepping into the breach clear-eyed, united with its allies, and fully prepared to act. The coming days will be critical, but one message from Jerusalem rings loud and clear: Israel will not stand idle.
