Netanyahu Tells Iranians: Israel Stands with You, Freedom is Coming

Prime Minister offers message of hope and support to the Iranian people amidst escalating regional tensions.

In a rare direct address to the Iranian people, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a powerful message of solidarity on Monday, expressing Israel’s unwavering support for the “noble Persian people” while condemning the oppressive regime in Tehran. The statement, delivered in English with Persian subtitles, comes amid Israel's intensified conflict with Iran-backed Hezbollah and escalating tensions across the region.

Netanyahu began by pointing to the regime's exploitation of its resources, stating, “Every day, you see a regime that subjugates you make fiery speeches about defending Lebanon, defending Gaza. Yet every day, that regime plunges our region deeper into darkness and deeper into war.” He emphasized that while Iran's proxies are being eliminated, Israel’s reach extends across the Middle East. “There is nowhere we will not go to protect our people,” he declared.

Addressing the Iranian people directly, Netanyahu underscored the regime’s neglect of its own citizens, who are suffering due to the regime's obsession with foreign wars and nuclear ambitions. “The vast majority of Iranians know their regime doesn’t care a whit about them,” he said, imagining a future where the regime’s massive spending on military activities could instead be used to improve Iranians’ lives through education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

Netanyahu’s message was clear: the fall of the regime is inevitable and closer than many think. “When Iran is finally free and that moment will come a lot sooner than people think everything will be different,” he asserted, envisioning a future where Israel and Iran, two ancient civilizations, would live in peace.

The Prime Minister also painted a vivid picture of a prosperous future for a free Iran, one marked by global investment, technological innovation, and thriving tourism. “Doesn’t that sound better than endless poverty, repression, and war?” he asked.

Netanyahu concluded with a call for the Iranian people not to let their dreams be crushed by a small group of fanatical rulers. “You deserve better. Your children deserve better. The entire world deserves better,” he said. “The people of Iran should know Israel stands with you. May we together know a future of prosperity and peace.”

This message of hope comes just days after Israel’s assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, an event celebrated by many anti-regime Iranians worldwide. Nasrallah’s death, along with that of a senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) official, has further isolated the Iranian regime. In the wake of these developments, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was moved to a secure location, reflecting concerns about potential further escalations.

Meanwhile, the U.S. has warned Iran that any retaliation for Nasrallah’s assassination, or for the death of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran earlier this year, could lead to a stronger Israeli response. In April, Iran retaliated against an Israeli strike by launching over 300 missiles and drones at Israel, most of which were intercepted. In turn, Israel reportedly responded with targeted strikes in Iran, including a drone attack on Isfahan, home to one of Iran’s major nuclear research centers.

As Israel continues its military operations against Hezbollah and Iran’s proxies, Netanyahu’s message to the Iranian people serves as a reminder that while the regime may be escalating the conflict, Israel sees a brighter, peaceful future for the people of Iran. Netanyahu’s closing words resonate: “We will stand with you, and together, we will know a future of peace and prosperity.”
