At White House, Netanyahu Expresses Confidence in Saudi Peace Agreement

Israeli PM and Trump discuss regional diplomacy at White House press conference.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed optimism about achieving peace with Saudi Arabia, stating at a joint White House press conference on Tuesday that normalization “is not only feasible, I think it's going to happen.”

"I'm committed to achieving it. I know President Trump is committed, and I think the Saudi leadership is interested as well. We'll give it a good shot, and I think we'll succeed," Netanyahu told reporters.

During their Oval Office meeting, Trump clarified that Saudi Arabia has not demanded the creation of a Palestinian state as a precondition for peace.

However, Israeli officials, speaking anonymously to The Jerusalem Post, have voiced concerns that Netanyahu may be willing to delay West Bank annexation and end the war in Gaza in order to secure a deal with Riyadh.

With U.S. backing, Netanyahu is pushing for a historic breakthrough in Israeli-Saudi ties, which could reshape the Middle East’s geopolitical landscape. However, the path to normalization may come with complex trade-offs, including security, governance in Gaza, and broader regional stability.
