Netanyahu holds security briefing as Gaza terrorists launch rocket
IDF responds to attack as military prepares for multiple scenarios.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a high-level security briefing at the Israel Defense Forces’ Southern Command headquarters in Beersheva on Thursday evening, just as terrorists in Gaza fired a rocket toward Israel.
The four-hour meeting, attended by top security officials including Defense Minister Israel Katz, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, and incoming Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. (res.) Eyal Zamir, focused on the IDF’s operational plans for various scenarios.
As the discussion unfolded, a rocket launched from Gaza failed to reach Israel, instead crashing inside the Strip and reportedly killing a 14-year-old Palestinian. The IDF released surveillance footage showing the misfired projectile landing in a densely populated area.
“The rocket fell inside Gaza. The IDF is committed to fully implementing the conditions of the agreement for the return of the hostages,” the military stated.
In response, IDF forces targeted the launch site responsible for the attack. According to reports, Netanyahu and Katz personally approved the strike from Southern Command.
Despite ongoing ceasefire efforts, Gaza-based terror groups continue their attempts to harm Israeli civilians. The IDF remains on high alert, prepared for any scenario that may unfold.
