Netanyahu Says Israel and US Dominate Iran’s Skies in Historic Alliance
Prime minister declares Operation Roar of the Lion a decisive battle as Israeli and American forces dismantle Iran’s military capabilities.

As Israel’s war with Iran moves into its second week, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a powerful message to the nation and the world: Israel and the United States are operating together in an unprecedented military partnership that has already reshaped the battlefield.
In a nationally televised address marking one week since the launch of Operation Roar of the Lion, Netanyahu described the campaign as a defining moment for Israel’s security and the stability of the Middle East.
“We are in a decisive battle for our very existence,” Netanyahu said. “A week has passed since Operation Roar of the Lion began, and I want to salute our heroic pilots, the ground crews working around the clock, and our brave fighters on all fronts.”
He also praised Israeli civilians who continue to endure missile attacks while following safety instructions from the Home Front Command.
“In safe rooms and shelters you are showing great strength,” he said. “You are telling our soldiers: keep going until victory.”
A central theme of Netanyahu’s address was the extraordinary coordination between Israel and the United States.
The prime minister thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for what he described as historic leadership and a renewed strategic alliance between the two nations.
“When I met President Trump months before he was elected, the first thing he told me was: ‘We must prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons at any cost,’” Netanyahu recalled.
“I thank my friend President Trump for the strong friendship between us and the closer-than-ever alliance between the United States and Israel.”
The operational cooperation between the two militaries has been evident in the skies over Iran.
U.S. Central Command echoed that assessment, declaring that “the world’s two greatest Air Forces continue to dominate the skies over Iran.”
According to Netanyahu, that dominance has already produced dramatic results.
“Through the bold actions of our pilots and those of the United States, we have achieved almost complete control of the skies over Iran,” he said.
Netanyahu said the first week of the campaign has inflicted severe damage on Iran’s leadership structure and military capabilities.
“In the first week of the war we eliminated the tyrant Khamenei, neutralized dozens of senior Revolutionary Guard commanders and hundreds of terror operatives,” he said.
Israeli and American forces have also destroyed key components of Iran’s military infrastructure, including:
Nuclear facilities
Missile depots
Drone warehouses
Command centers
Military bases
Weapons production factories
Hundreds of ballistic missile launchers
“These strikes significantly reduce the threat to the State of Israel,” Netanyahu said.
Netanyahu emphasized that the campaign was launched to prevent Iran from completing an effort to shield its nuclear program beneath mountains and fortified underground facilities.
“The dictator in Tehran ignored the warnings of President Trump and ignored my warnings,” Netanyahu said.
Allowing Iran to complete that effort, he argued, would have created an untouchable nuclear program capable of threatening not only Israel but the entire Western world.
“Iran would have threatened the United States, Europe, the countries of the region, and the entire world with nuclear weapons,” he said.
Netanyahu also delivered a strong message to Lebanon regarding Hezbollah, Iran’s most powerful regional proxy.
“The responsibility of the Lebanese government is to enforce the ceasefire and disarm Hezbollah,” he said.
“If you do not do this, Hezbollah’s aggression will bring disastrous consequences upon Lebanon.”
Despite the early success of the operation, Netanyahu made clear that Israel’s campaign inside Iran is only beginning.
“We have an organized plan with many surprises,” he said. “We have many more targets.”
He also addressed members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard directly, warning those involved in suppressing Iranian protesters that they are being monitored.
“To those who oppress the Iranian people in the streets. I say this you too are on the target list.”
At the same time, Netanyahu stressed that Israel’s struggle is not with the Iranian people.
“We do not seek to divide Iran,” he said. “We seek to free Iran and to live with it in peace.”
The prime minister concluded by linking the current campaign to the strategic shift Israel adopted after the October 7 Hamas massacre.
“After the terrible massacre of October 7, I decided to lead a fundamental shift,” Netanyahu said.
That shift involves proactive operations designed to disrupt enemies before they can carry out attacks.
Recalling his service in Israel’s elite Sayeret Matkal unit, Netanyahu referenced a motto that he said still guides his thinking today.
“The daring win,” he said.
“If you are afraid to act, you lose. But if you take calculated risks and throw the enemy off balance, you break his spirit.”
With that message, Netanyahu pledged that the campaign will continue until its objectives are achieved.
“We will not stop fighting the tyrants in Iran,” he declared. “Together we will roar like a lion, and with God’s help we will secure the eternity of Israel.”
