Netanyahu Travels to US to Strengthen Bipartisan Support for Israel
Israeli PM Aims to Bolster US-Israel Relations Amid Global Challenges.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu departed for the United States, embarking on a mission to reinforce bipartisan support for Israel. During his trip, he is set to address both houses of Congress and meet with US President Joe Biden. Joining Netanyahu are former hostages and families of hostages still held in Gaza, highlighting the critical nature of his visit.
“At a time when Israel is fighting on seven fronts and there’s great political uncertainty in Washington, I will address, for the fourth time, both houses of Congress as the Prime Minister of Israel,” Netanyahu stated before his departure. He emphasized the importance of bipartisan support for Israel and assured that Israel remains a steadfast ally of the United States, regardless of the upcoming American presidential elections.
Netanyahu’s agenda with President Biden includes discussions on achieving the release of all hostages, defeating Hamas, confronting the Iranian terror axis, and ensuring the safety of Israeli citizens. This meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, marks Netanyahu's first with a US president during his current term, which began in late 2022. Despite President Biden's recent announcement to drop out of the presidential race, the meeting is set to proceed as planned.
“In this time of war and uncertainty, it’s important that Israel’s enemies know that America and Israel stand together today, tomorrow, and always,” Netanyahu concluded, reinforcing the unbreakable bond between the two nations.
