Netanyahu Iran Made a Grave Mistake and Will Face Consequences

After deadly attacks, Israeli Prime Minister vows retaliation and calls for global unity against Tehran's regime.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a stern warning to Iran following a deadly wave of attacks on Israel, vowing swift retaliation for Tehran’s role in orchestrating violence against Israeli civilians. Speaking at the start of the weekly Security Cabinet meeting ahead of Rosh Hashanah, Netanyahu addressed the terror attack in Jaffa, where seven Israelis were murdered, as well as the barrage of nearly 200 ballistic missiles launched by Iran.

“Citizens of Israel, I send condolences to the families of those who were murdered in the abhorrent terrorist attack in Jaffa and my best wishes for a quick recovery to the wounded,” Netanyahu began. He linked the attack to Iran, stating, “There was also a murderous guiding hand behind this terrorist attack – it came from Tehran.”

Netanyahu condemned the missile strikes on Israel, which were thwarted by Israel’s advanced air defense systems. “This evening, Iran made a big mistake – and it will pay for it,” he said. He praised the IDF for its success in intercepting the missiles and thanked the United States for its support.

Emphasizing Israel's resolve, Netanyahu declared, “The regime in Tehran does not understand our determination to defend ourselves and to exact a price from our enemies.” He added that figures like Hamas leaders Yahya Sinwar, Mohammed Deif, and Hezbollah’s Hassan Nasrallah have similarly underestimated Israel’s resolve and Iran will learn the same lesson.

“We will keep to the rule we have determined: Whoever attacks us we attack them,” Netanyahu stated, vowing that Israel would continue to fight the “axis of evil” in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iran.

Calling for global unity, Netanyahu urged the world to stand with Israel against the “ayatollahs’ dark regime,” which he described as the source of terror and instability in the region. “The choice has never been more clear, between tyranny and freedom, between the blessing and the curse,” he said.

As Israel prepares for the new year, Netanyahu assured citizens that the country is gaining momentum in its fight against its enemies. “On the eve of Rosh Hashanah, I say to you, citizens of Israel: Israel has the momentum and the axis of evil is in retreat. We will do whatever needs to be done to achieve all of our war objectives.”

Netanyahu concluded with a message of hope, wishing Israelis a “good and safe year,” while reaffirming Israel’s commitment to securing its future and ensuring the return of all hostages.
