Netanyahu Warns of Possible Larger Front in Judea and Samaria Amid Hamas War

Israeli security forces intensify operations as concerns grow over Oct. 7-style terror threats.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned on Wednesday that a "larger and more intense front" could emerge in Judea and Samaria as Israel continues its military campaign against Hamas in Gaza.

During a visit to the Border Police’s Mista’arvim undercover special forces unit, Netanyahu emphasized the heightened alert in the region, stating, “While we are waging an intense war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, we are aware of the possibility that a larger and more intense front could open here in Judea and Samaria.”

Netanyahu commended the Border Police units, IDF, Israel Police, and special forces for their coordinated efforts, calling their work “holy” and vital to the security of Israel’s citizens. He was briefed on recent security developments by Chief Superintendent K., who leads the undercover unit, and observed counter-terrorism drills simulating real-life scenarios in the region.

The visit comes amid growing concerns over potential large-scale terror attacks originating from Judea and Samaria. The Israel Defense Forces have reportedly prepared contingency plans, including aerial strikes to block access roads and neutralize threats in the event of an Oct. 7-style assault on Jewish communities.

Security operations in the area have intensified following the failed coordinated bus bombings near Tel Aviv on February 20. Investigations revealed that Palestinian Authority Arab terrorists attempted to execute a large-scale attack, echoing previous attempts by terror cells based in Jenin and elsewhere in Samaria.

Recent data from the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs shows that over two-thirds of Israeli Jews fear the possibility of a major terror attack from Judea and Samaria. Alarmingly, Rescuers Without Borders reported over 6,343 terror incidents in the area in 2024 alone, resulting in 27 Israeli deaths and more than 300 injuries.

As Israel faces continued threats from multiple fronts, its security forces remain vigilant, ensuring the safety and stability of its communities in both Gaza and Judea and Samaria.
