NYC Partners with Israel to Launch Economic Council
Israel intensifies military pressure on terror groups in southern Gaza amid ongoing Operation Gideon's Chariots.

In a significant move to strengthen economic and technological ties, New York City and Israel have agreed to establish a joint economic council aimed at boosting bilateral innovation and creating new opportunities for Israeli businesses in the American market.
Announced by New York City Mayor Eric Adams and Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry Nir Barkat, the creation of the New York City-Israel Economic Council will serve as a gateway for Israeli startups to enter the U.S., while fostering collaborations with local companies in New York. The council will focus on high-impact sectors such as environmental technology, artificial intelligence, life sciences, fintech, and public safety.
Mayor Adams emphasized that the partnership reflects a longstanding tradition of cooperation between New York and Israel. “This declaration of intent will drive innovation, create jobs, and strengthen the unbreakable bond between our two governments,” he said, underscoring the city's role as a hub for international economic engagement.
Minister Barkat praised New York as a global beacon of economic leadership and creativity, noting that the new agreement will enhance Israel’s footprint in one of the world’s most dynamic markets. “This initiative opens new opportunities for Israeli companies to engage with the vibrant New York economy, while contributing meaningful value to sectors vital for the future,” he stated.
The nonbinding agreement highlights a mutual commitment to promoting cutting-edge industries. According to Barkat, this collaboration will positively impact Israel’s international exports and promote its technological advancements across fintech, health tech, software, and agro-food innovation.
Also weighing in was Moshe Davis, executive director of the city’s newly formed mayoral office to combat Jew-hatred. “This council represents both strategic partnership and moral clarity,” he said. “As antisemitism rises globally, New York City is responding with substantive collaboration in sectors that matter.”
In a time of mounting global tensions, this partnership stands as a testament to the enduring alliance between Israel and its allies one rooted not only in shared values, but in shared visions for economic growth and global progress.
