New Ogen Lifeline Initiative Aims to Assist War-Affected Israelis
"Ogen for the Future" offers comprehensive support to displaced families in Israel’s northern and southern regions.
In response to the devastating impacts of the ongoing conflict with Hamas and Hezbollah, Ogen, a leading nonprofit social lending organization, has launched a crucial new initiative titled "Ogen for the Future." This program is specifically designed to support communities in Israel’s northern and southern regions, which have been heavily affected by the war but have received insufficient government assistance. The initiative aims to fill this gap, providing vital support to those most in need.
"Ogen for the Future" offers a holistic approach to aid, addressing not only the financial challenges but also the mental health, vocational, and legal needs of affected families. Over the next two years, the program plans to assist approximately 1,000 displaced and evacuated families. Through personalized counseling sessions, Ogen provides financial guidance, re-housing assistance, mental health services, and vocational training, helping these families regain stability in the aftermath of conflict.
The initiative was developed in direct response to the increasing hardships faced by communities hardest hit by the war, including widespread displacement, job losses, and the trauma of living in a conflict zone. This effort builds on Ogen’s previous work, such as the Emergency Relief Fund, which provided direct aid to over 35,000 Israelis following the brutal attacks on October 7.
Ogen’s reach has recently expanded to include Majdal Shams, a northern Israeli community that suffered a catastrophic rocket attack in late July, claiming the lives of 12 children. Within the first day of launching in Majdal Shams, 15 families signed up for assistance, underscoring the urgent need for Ogen's services in severely impacted areas.
To deliver comprehensive and integrated support, Ogen has partnered with a variety of professional service providers, local authorities, and nonprofit organizations. This collaborative approach ensures that families receive the necessary care, focusing on financial stability, legal support, and mental well-being.
Sagi Balasha, CEO of Ogen, emphasized the initiative's long-term vision: “Our goal with Ogen for the Future is to help families rebuild their lives amidst ongoing challenges,” highlighting the importance of resilience in the face of adversity.
As "Ogen for the Future" progresses, it will prioritize accessibility and tailored support, ensuring that families affected by the war have the resources and guidance they need to navigate the recovery process successfully.
