After 495 days in Hamas captivity, new information has surfaced confirming that Israeli hostage Omri Miran was alive and in stable condition as of July. The confirmation comes from a recently released hostage who was held alongside Miran in Gaza.
“We received confirmation of Omri’s condition through one of the returned hostages,” his brother Boaz Miran revealed on Tuesday. “They shared that his condition was generally stable during their time together when they were being held in both tunnels and residential buildings.”
However, Boaz cautioned that the last known contact was months ago, when Hamas separated the hostages. “Everything we know is only valid until that point of separation. The situation could have changed dramatically since then, so while we’re grateful for any information, it doesn’t provide much comfort.”
Omri Miran was abducted from his home in Kibbutz Nahal Oz during the Hamas-led massacre on October 7, 2023. Terrorists forcibly moved his family before taking him and leaving his wife and daughters behind.

On April 27, 2024, Hamas released a propaganda video featuring Miran and fellow hostage Keith Siegel. Siegel was freed last Saturday after 484 days in captivity, along with Yarden Bibas and Ofer Kalderon.
The Miran family is calling for the immediate release of all hostages. “Their physical condition is deteriorating, and they won’t survive another drawn-out, phased-release process,” Boaz said. “If we’re moving toward an agreement even one that might be seen as a surrender it needs to secure everyone’s immediate return.”
As Israel continues negotiations for hostage releases, the latest revelations highlight the urgency of securing the return of those still held captive. Share this article or subscribe to our newsletter for updates to raise awareness and demand action.
