Combat Reservists Launch New Jewish Community in Strategic Jordan Valley

Veterans return to the battlefield to build a new future, anchoring Zionism and security along Israel’s eastern frontier.

In a powerful act of national revival and strategic vision, a group of IDF combat reservists who defended Israel in the current war will soon establish a new Jewish community in the northern Jordan Valley. This bold initiative, led by the Generation of Victory movement, marks the first of five new communities planned for the region under a broader government plan to strengthen Israel’s presence in Judea and Samaria.

The new settlement, named Tevetz, will rise on the grounds of the former Hamam al-Malih base. Strategically situated near the “triangle of villages” Tammun, Tubas, and Taysir this corridor is considered a major transit point for Iranian weapons smuggled through Jordan into northern Samaria. By establishing a permanent Jewish presence in the area, Israel aims to disrupt these terror logistics and reinforce its eastern defensive line.

“This represents a historic day in the chronicles of Jewish settlement in the Land of Israel,” said Maj. (res.) Gilad Ach, chair of Generation of Victory. “Our movement launched this project so that reservists return to settle in the very regions where they once fought to defend the nation.”

The project is part of the government’s larger decision to authorize 22 new communities across Judea and Samaria, five of which are allocated specifically to the Jordan Valley. Ministries led by Orit Strock and Amichai Chikli, with logistical backing from the Amana movement, have coordinated the effort to transform battlefield dedication into long-term Zionist achievement.

Maj. Ach emphasized the broader scope of the movement’s mission: “We are preparing to establish four new reservist settlements this summer and to strengthen approximately 20 existing communities along the state’s borders. Reserve soldiers have demonstrated their profound commitment to the state and the people. None are more deserving than they to lead this next generation of settlement and Zionist revitalization.”

The symbolic significance is profound. In the face of terrorism, Israel responds not with retreat, but with construction. Not with fear, but with life. “This governmental action transmits a direct message to Israel’s enemies,” said Ach. “For every murder we will bring additional life and construction forever.”

As the sun rises over the Jordan Valley, so too does a renewed spirit of determination, rooted in the land and carried forward by those who risked everything to defend it.
