Shaquille O’Neal Sends Heartfelt Greetings to Child Survivors of Hamas Attack

NBA Legend Offers Words of Love and Support to Israeli Children at Canadian Camp.

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal recently extended his heartfelt support to child survivors of the October 7 Hamas massacre through a touching video message. The children, who are being hosted at Camp Timberlane in Canada, received words of encouragement from the former basketball star, who is known for his larger-than-life personality both on and off the court.

In the video, O’Neal warmly greeted the children with “Hello. Shalom! This is Shaquille O’Neal. I just wanted to give you guys a shout-out and let you know I love you.” His message continued with an acknowledgment of the challenges the children have faced, adding, “I know you came from far, far away. Hope you’re having a good time. We love you so very much.”

O’Neal concluded his message with a sincere farewell in Hebrew, saying, “Shalom, Baruch Hashem, Le Shana Tova, Shabbat shalom!” This gesture was a testament to his desire to connect with the children on a personal level, offering them comfort during a difficult time.

The October 7 attack, carried out by Hamas terrorists, resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people in Israel, with 251 hostages taken. The brutality of the attack shocked the world, and many high-profile figures have since reached out in solidarity with the victims.

Camp Timberlane, where the children are currently staying, has a long-standing partnership with OneFamily, an organization dedicated to supporting victims of terror and their families. For over 12 years, they have worked together to provide Israeli children with summer camp experiences that offer a much-needed respite from their hardships.

While the exact timing of O’Neal’s video is unclear, it was shared on Camp Timberlane’s Instagram page last week, capturing the attention of many.

O’Neal is among several celebrities who have publicly shown their support for the victims of the October 7 massacre. In October, filmmaker Quentin Tarantino visited survivors in southern Israel, and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather not only sent messages of support but also provided aid via a private jet. Other celebrities like Adam Sandler, Jennifer Garner, and Yara Shahidi have also expressed their empathy and concern for those affected.

In December, American Jewish comedian Jerry Seinfeld and his wife Jessica made a solidarity trip to southern Israel, where they met with survivors and advocated for the release of the remaining hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.

Shaquille O’Neal’s message of love and support is a reminder of the global community’s solidarity with Israel and its people during these challenging times.
