Ted Cruz Backs Israel’s Biblical Right to Judea and Samaria

Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) delivered a powerful message of support for Israel at the 2025 Sovereignty Conference in Jerusalem, affirming what he called Israel’s biblically grounded right to its ancestral homeland in Judea and Samaria. Speaking via video, Cruz emphasized that Israel’s right to this land "starts in the Bible and extends through modern times."

Addressing the gathering of Israeli leaders and activists, Cruz stated, “Israel has an absolute right to determine what happens in Judea and Samaria.” His words resonated strongly with the audience, reflecting his steadfast backing of Israel’s sovereignty over these historic regions.

Cruz thanked Yesha Council chairman Israel Gantz for his dedication to strengthening the U.S.-Israel alliance. “As you meet today, have confidence that the American people stand with you,” Cruz said. He underscored that with former President Trump and the new Republican Congress, the American government remains a solid ally of Israel.

The Yesha Council, a coalition of local and regional councils in Judea and Samaria, co-produced the conference, which for over two decades has advocated for integrating these areas into the State of Israel. This year’s conference highlighted expectations for Israel’s government to change the status quo in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza, bolstered by growing U.S. support.

Cruz drew historical parallels by quoting former Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin’s defiant exchange with then-Senator Joe Biden in 1982. After Biden reportedly pounded a table during a heated discussion on U.S. aid, Begin famously responded, “This desk is designed for writing, not for fists. Don’t threaten us with slashing aid.”

Cruz echoed Begin’s words, celebrating Israel’s resilience: “We paid for it. We fought for it. We died for it. We will stand by our principles. We will defend them. And when necessary, we will die for them again. With or without your aid.”

The senator did not shy away from addressing the dangers Israel faces, condemning what he described as “Palestinian savages” for the suffering they inflict. He noted the “unfathomable trauma” endured by Israel and the Jewish people as they await the return of every hostage, whether living or murdered.

In a stirring conclusion, Cruz declared: “Every person in this room has paid for the Land of Israel, has fought for the Land of Israel, and far too many have died for the Land of Israel. I am proud to stand with you unshakably as you determine the future of Judea and Samaria.”

The Sovereignty Conference serves as a critical platform for discussing Israel’s future, advocating for solidifying control over Judea, Samaria, and Gaza.
