IDF Soldiers Commended by Trump Counterterrorism Director: ‘Doing the L-rd’s Work’

Sebastian Gorka calls IDF efforts “the L-rd’s work” and vows unwavering U.S. support.

Sebastian Gorka, the incoming senior director for counterterrorism under President-elect Donald Trump, voiced unwavering support for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in an interview with Israel’s Channel 14. Gorka described the IDF’s fight against terrorism as “the L-rd’s work,” emphasizing America’s commitment to standing with Israel.

Gorka addressed Trump’s recent statement warning Hamas to release the hostages taken during the October 7 attacks, calling it a sign of steadfast solidarity. “Trump will stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Israel and Prime Minister Netanyahu to make sure that the threats to [Israel] and to Judeo-Christian civilization are destroyed,” Gorka said.

Rejecting claims that Israel is committing “genocide,” Gorka compared global jihadism to Nazism, labeling it the new face of totalitarian ideology. “If anyone says Israel is committing genocide, they’re on the side of the real genocidal jihadis,” he remarked.

Regarding the ongoing Israel-Lebanon ceasefire, Gorka stressed the need to neutralize terror groups like Hezbollah and Hamas completely. “Israel has done an incredible job of undermining the capacity of groups like Hezbollah, Hamas, and the global jihadi movement to hurt [Israeli] citizens,” he said.

When asked about the prospects of a Palestinian state, Gorka pointed to polling that shows widespread support among Palestinian Arabs for the October 7 massacre. “Until the people of Gaza and the West Bank decide they want to live in peace with Israel and do not want to kill every Jew, there is no political resolution,” he stated, adding that Israel must prioritize its own security over political solutions.

For Gorka, a decisive victory doesn’t involve a classical end to conflict but ensuring Israel’s continued responsibility for the security of territories used by terror groups to launch attacks. “Make it impossible for any jihadi group to exploit those territories to launch new mass casualty attacks,” he said.

Concluding with a message to IDF soldiers and their families, Gorka offered encouragement. “Hold the line. America will be back very, very soon. We bless every single one of you. You are doing the L-rd’s work by saving innocent people and bringing justice to evildoers. Don’t give up, hold the line, and we will keep you in our prayers.”
