Arab Leaders to Hear Trump’s US Proposal for Ending Gaza War
Proposal includes hostage release, IDF withdrawal, and Arab-backed governance in Gaza without Hamas.

US President Donald Trump will unveil a plan to Arab leaders outlining American principles for ending the Gaza war, according to a report by Axios.
The meeting, set for Tuesday, will bring together leaders and senior officials from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan.
Key elements of the plan reportedly include:
A framework for the release of hostages held by Hamas.
A timeline for IDF withdrawal from Gaza.
A structure for post-war governance in Gaza without Hamas.
The US also wants Arab nations to commit to deploying military forces in Gaza to enable Israel’s withdrawal. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has already indicated readiness to send troops as a peacekeeping force.
Beyond security, Trump is pressing Arab countries to provide financial support for rebuilding Gaza, Axios reported. Arab officials described the talks as preliminary, with the aim of gathering feedback before moving the proposal forward.
“Tomorrow’s meeting could be fairly significant,” one US official said. “We want to present what we think is the only viable path forward and secure regional buy-in.”
Israeli officials confirmed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is aware of the plan’s general outline. However, they acknowledged that some elements will be difficult for Israel’s government to accept. “There will be bitter pills we’ll have to swallow,” one official admitted.
The push for a diplomatic breakthrough comes as momentum builds internationally for Palestinian statehood. Just last week, the UK, Canada, and France announced formal recognition of a Palestinian state, raising pressure on both Washington and Jerusalem.
Trump’s effort represents Washington’s most ambitious attempt yet to rally regional and international support for a post-war framework one that secures Israel’s security, weakens Hamas, and seeks Arab cooperation in rebuilding Gaza.
