Trump Appeal Echoed in Arab Media as Hamas Claims Readiness for Hostage Deal
Reports link Trump’s call for full release to Hamas’s bid for a comprehensive Gaza ceasefire agreement.

Major Arabic-language media outlets are prominently linking U.S. President Donald Trump’s call for the release of all remaining Israeli hostages with Hamas’s claim that it is ready for a comprehensive deal to end the war in Gaza. The synchronized framing, appearing across networks like Asharq News, Sky News Arabia, Al Jazeera Arabic, and Al-Araby al-Jadeed, amplified Hamas’s offer in the context of mounting international pressure.
Trump’s public appeal to free “all 20” of the living hostages was widely highlighted on Arab social media channels run by regional broadcasters, making it a central narrative component in headline coverage of Hamas’s latest statement.
Asharq News led with the headline: “Hamas: We are ready for a comprehensive deal to end the war and release all captives,” pairing the claim with Trump’s message. Sky News Arabia echoed this tone with: “After Trump’s message, Hamas is ‘ready’ for a comprehensive agreement to end the war.” Both outlets summarized Hamas’s position as a one-shot deal requiring full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, opening of border crossings, and the start of reconstruction.
Al Jazeera Arabic updated its reporting late Wednesday to state that Hamas is prepared “to go to a comprehensive deal” involving the release of “all captives,” again stressing that this would only be part of a package that includes an end to hostilities and a complete IDF pullout.
Al-Araby al-Jadeed added procedural context, noting Hamas’s claim that it is awaiting an Israeli response to a mediators’ proposal submitted August 18. The report detailed the group’s prerequisites: full withdrawal, unrestricted humanitarian access, post-war reconstruction, and the formation of a technocratic administration to govern Gaza.
Regional English-language summaries echoed the Arabic reporting. Al Arabiya framed Hamas’s statement as a “comprehensive Gaza deal,” directly tying it to Trump’s same-day demand for the full release of hostages.
Israel has not issued a formal response to the August 18 proposal, but officials have reiterated that any deal must first guarantee security, require Hamas’s disarmament, and not reward terrorism with political concessions.
While Hamas’s offer may appear conciliatory, Israeli and Western observers remain deeply skeptical. The demand for a total IDF withdrawal and Hamas’s continued refusal to relinquish military power raise questions about whether the offer is a genuine move toward peace or another tactical maneuver amid shifting international narratives.
As media framing continues to shape public perception in the region, Israel remains committed to its dual mission: bringing all hostages home and neutralizing the terror threat on its borders.
