Trump Says US and Israel Will Jointly Decide When to End Iran War

President highlights close coordination with Prime Minister Netanyahu as the allies press their campaign against the Iranian regime.

U.S. President Donald Trump said the decision on when to conclude the war against Iran will be made in close coordination with Israel, underscoring the strength of the alliance between Washington and Jerusalem during the ongoing conflict.

In a phone interview Sunday night, Trump confirmed that he and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have remained in constant contact as the joint campaign unfolds.

“I think it’s mutual… a little bit. We’ve been talking,” Trump said when asked whether the decision to end the war would be his alone or shared with Netanyahu. “I’ll make a decision at the right time, but everything’s going to be taken into account.”

The president’s remarks reflect the deep military coordination between the United States and Israel since the launch of the campaign targeting Iranian military infrastructure.

American and Israeli forces have carried out extensive strikes aimed at dismantling Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities, weakening its leadership networks, and preventing the regime from advancing its nuclear ambitions.

Trump emphasized that the partnership between the two countries played a decisive role in confronting what he described as a grave threat.

“Iran was going to destroy Israel and everything else around it,” he said. “We’ve worked together. We’ve destroyed a country that wanted to destroy Israel.”

Although Trump made clear that the United States will ultimately determine the timing of its own military operations, he acknowledged that Israel’s perspective will be an important factor in deciding when the campaign should conclude.

The comments reflect the unusually close coordination between the two allies during the conflict, with military operations and strategic messaging closely aligned.

When asked whether Israel might continue its own operations if Washington decided to halt its strikes, Trump declined to speculate.

“I don’t think it’s going to be necessary,” he said.

The war has seen intense air operations targeting Iranian command centers, missile launchers, and military infrastructure. The coordinated effort between the United States and Israel has significantly weakened Iran’s operational capabilities and disrupted its regional network of proxies.

As the campaign continues, leaders in both countries are evaluating how and when to bring the conflict to a close while ensuring that Iran’s ability to threaten Israel and regional stability is decisively reduced.

Trump’s remarks highlight the strategic alignment that has long defined the U.S.–Israel partnership.
