Trump Claims Israel Will Hand Over Gaza to US After War

Former president proposes American-led reconstruction with no troops on the ground.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has declared that Israel will transfer control of the Gaza Strip to the United States once the current conflict concludes. In a post on Truth Social, Trump outlined a vision in which Palestinians would have already been relocated to modern communities elsewhere in the region, allowing for a massive American-led redevelopment of Gaza.

“The Gaza Strip would be turned over to the United States by Israel at the conclusion of fighting,” Trump wrote. “The Palestinians… would have already been resettled in far safer and more beautiful communities, with new and modern homes, in the region.” He added that the U.S., working with international development teams, would create “one of the greatest and most spectacular developments of its kind on Earth,” emphasizing that no American troops would be needed for the plan to succeed.

Trump’s remarks build upon statements made earlier in the week during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. He suggested that the United States would “take over” and rebuild Gaza while ensuring the permanent resettlement of its residents in other nations.

The proposal has sparked debate, with critics questioning the feasibility and political implications of such a move. While Trump’s vision involves large-scale resettlement, he did not specify which countries would participate in absorbing Gazan refugees, nor how such a massive reconstruction project would be funded or administered.

Trump also took aim at Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, a longtime critic of his administration. Reflecting on the political landscape, he recalled a time when pro-Israel support was considered a dominant force in American politics. “Schumer is like a Palestinian,” he remarked, expressing frustration with shifting U.S. attitudes toward Israel.

As discussions around Gaza’s future continue, Trump’s comments introduce a bold and controversial proposal. Whether his vision gains traction or remains rhetorical remains to be seen. Share this article or subscribe to our newsletter for updates to stay informed on the latest developments.
