Trump Set to Visit Lubavitcher Rebbe’s Grave and Attend Memorial for October 7
The former president continues to emphasize his support for Israel and the Jewish community.
Former President Donald Trump will speak at a memorial event in Miami on Monday, commemorating the victims of the tragic Hamas attack on southwestern Israel on October 7th, 2023. The gathering, held at Trump National Doral Miami, will honor those who were killed, injured, or taken hostage during the invasion, as well as victims of antisemitic violence around the world.
In a statement released by his campaign, Trump called the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas a “battle between the forces of good versus evil.” He condemned the policies of the current administration, which he claimed have "emboldened" Iran and its proxies, leading to increased threats to both Israel and the United States. Trump also criticized the Biden administration for allegedly allowing antisemitism to spread, especially on college campuses.
Reports from Jewish media have also confirmed that Trump plans to visit the gravesite of the revered Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, before heading to the Miami event. The visit is expected to take place in Queens, New York, with his longtime associate and former U.S. Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, playing a key role in arranging the trip.
Secret Service preparations are already underway for the visit to the Rebbe’s grave, a place of significance for many Jewish leaders and followers. Previous high-profile visitors include leaders such as Argentinian President Javier Milei and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, along with members of the Trump family, who visited in 2020 ahead of that year's presidential election.
This double gesture attending the memorial and paying respects at the Rebbe's grave underscores Trump’s continued alignment with Israel and his deep ties with the Jewish community.
As the conflict in Israel continues, Trump’s vocal support for the Jewish state remains a key component of his political messaging. His presence at these events sends a strong signal to his base, emphasizing his stance on national security, foreign policy, and combating antisemitism.
