UAE to Build Permanent Embassy in Herzliya
New 15-story complex signals deepening Israel-UAE ties under the Abraham Accords.

In a powerful signal of deepening diplomatic ties, the United Arab Emirates is moving forward with plans to construct a permanent embassy in Herzliya, Israel. The Tel Aviv District Planning and Building Committee has approved the project for deposit, marking a major milestone in the evolving relationship between the two nations.
The future embassy will be located at 9 Sapir Street in Herzliya Pituah, a prime site near the city’s bustling industrial zone and just off the scenic Coast Road. The 2.5-dunam plot currently a public parking lot will be transformed into a 15-story landmark, encompassing up to 15,000 square meters.
This complex is designed with both function and symbolism in mind. While the entire building will serve diplomatic purposes, roughly 20% of the space will be reserved for residential units to house embassy staff and the ambassador. A five-meter-high security wall will encircle the structure, and a shaded public space will be developed along Sapir Street, reflecting a thoughtful integration into the community’s urban landscape.
Adding to its strategic value, the site will benefit from its close proximity to the future Green Line light-rail station on Abba Even Street, improving accessibility and connectivity to the wider Tel Aviv metropolitan area.
Erez Ben-Eliezer of the Israel Planning Administration described the project as both practical and symbolic. "It enhances the industrial zone’s land use, strengthens international ties, and supports future cooperation," he said. The location within Herzliya’s business and technology hub was deliberately chosen to reflect the modern, forward-looking nature of the Israel-UAE partnership.
Since the historic signing of the Abraham Accords in 2020, relations between Israel and the UAE have expanded rapidly. The UAE first established its embassy in Israel in 2021, operating from temporary offices also in Herzliya. This new project represents a tangible step toward solidifying its long-term diplomatic presence in the country.
More than just bricks and mortar, the new embassy complex is poised to become a visible emblem of the Abraham Accords’ lasting impact. It stands as a testament to what can be achieved through dialogue, shared interests, and mutual respect between nations.
Israel’s leadership in innovation, technology, and regional diplomacy continues to draw global partners who see value in peace and collaboration. The permanent UAE embassy in Herzliya is a milestone not just in diplomacy, but in a future where Israel is increasingly recognized as a vital ally and trusted neighbor in the Middle East.
