US Citizen Arrested for Threatening to Bomb Tel Aviv Embassy and Kill Trump
Deported from Israel, the dual citizen faces federal charges for violent threats and attempted terror targeting American institutions.

A U.S.-German dual citizen has been charged in federal court with plotting a terror attack on the U.S. embassy branch in Tel Aviv and threatening the life of former President Donald Trump. Joseph Patrick Neumeyer, 28, originally from Colorado, was deported from Israel to New York on Saturday and faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
According to the U.S. Justice Department, Neumeyer arrived in Israel earlier this year and quickly turned violent. On May 19, he posted incendiary messages on Facebook calling for the destruction of the U.S. embassy and the death of Americans. “Join me as I burn down the embassy in Tel Aviv. Death to America,” he wrote, followed by further threats against American figures and institutions.
The threats turned into action the same day when Neumeyer spat on a guard outside the embassy while shouting anti-American slogans. Although he briefly escaped, he left behind a backpack containing several Molotov cocktails glass bottles filled with flammable fluid and black cloth fuses.
Authorities described a “strong odor of pure alcohol” emanating from the bag, confirming the devices as improvised incendiary weapons. The FBI later tracked Neumeyer to his hotel, where he was arrested.
“This defendant is charged with planning a devastating attack targeting our embassy in Israel, threatening death to Americans and President Trump’s life,” stated U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi. “The department will not tolerate such violence and will prosecute this defendant to the fullest extent of the law.”
The criminal complaint also includes threats made online against other prominent figures, including billionaire Elon Musk and Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
“This case sends a clear and powerful message,” said Steven Jensen, assistant director in charge of the FBI’s Washington field office. “The FBI and our partners will aggressively pursue those who attempt to harm U.S. citizens and interests abroad.”
The case has sparked renewed concern over the vulnerability of U.S. diplomatic missions and the continued targeting of Jewish and Israeli institutions by extremists.
In the face of hatred and terror, Israel remains a steadfast partner to the United States, ensuring that those who threaten peace and security face swift and decisive justice.
