US Navy SEAL Who Took Out Bin Laden Says, ‘They’re Showing Us How to Win Wars’

Hamas doubles down on demands amid Israeli strikes following the elimination of Yahya Sinwar.

Retired Navy SEAL Rob O’Neill, the man who assassinated Osama Bin Laden in 2011, praised Israel for its recent elimination of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, offering a clear message to the Biden Administration: “Israel is showing us how to win wars.”

O’Neill, who publicly revealed in 2014 that he was the one who killed Bin Laden during the SEAL Team Six raid in Pakistan, expressed his admiration for Israel’s military strategy. Speaking to Newsmax, he commended the Jewish state for its targeted efforts to eliminate terrorist leaders.

“What Israel is doing right now is they’re showing us how to win a war. They’re taking out the top leaders. They’re going to keep doing it,” O’Neill said, referencing Sinwar’s death. Sinwar, the mastermind behind Hamas’s October 7 massacre, was not killed in a planned assassination but during an IDF operation in Gaza. After attempting to escape into a building, Sinwar was located by Israeli soldiers and a drone, and a tank shell destroyed the building, killing him.

O’Neill criticized calls for a ceasefire, saying, “You don’t let someone start a war and then whine about a ceasefire… Israel ‘did a great job, and I couldn’t be more proud.’”

The SEAL veteran also highlighted the significance of Sinwar’s death for Israel. “This is huge for them. And I love that they were able to do it with soldiers. So the last thing that Yahya saw was probably the Israeli flag.”

O’Neill’s remarks followed Vice President Kamala Harris’s statement urging an end to the conflict that ensures Israel’s security and addresses the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

In 2011, O’Neill and his SEAL Team Six comrades famously cornered and eliminated Osama Bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan, marking one of the most significant moments in the War on Terror.
