Health Ministry Advises on Water Safety Across Israel
Elevated bacterial levels prompt caution at beaches and a water boil advisory in the north.
The Israeli Health Ministry has issued important water safety advisories affecting several regions across the country. These advisories come in response to abnormal bacterial levels detected in seawater at various beaches, as well as concerning test results from a water supply in the north.
Swimmers have been urged to avoid certain central beaches, where heightened bacterial levels pose potential health risks. The affected beaches include Gordon, Bograshov, Tzuk North, Tel Baruch North, Nordau, Geula, Givat Aliya, Nof Yam, HaSharon, Zebulun, and Arcadia. Authorities recommend staying away from these areas until further notice.
In the north, residents of Moshav Ramot near the Sea of Galilee have been placed under a water boil advisory. This measure was taken following abnormal test results in the local drinking water supply. The Health Ministry clarified that while water for hygiene purposes remains safe for use, all drinking and cooking water should be boiled as a precaution. Investigations into the issue are underway, and updates will be provided as the situation evolves.
These advisories highlight the importance of public vigilance regarding water quality. While temporary, such measures ensure the health and safety of residents and visitors alike.
