Victims of Yaffa Light Rail Terror Attack Identified

Families mourn as the toll of Tuesday's tragic attack is revealed.

The names of five of the seven victims killed in Tuesday night’s brutal terrorist attack at the Yaffa rail station have been released. The victims include 42-year-old Ilya Nozadze, 24-year-old Revital Bronstein, 33-year-old Inbar Segev Vigdar, 40-year-old Nadia Sokolenko, and 30-year-old Shahar Goldman. Two of the victims remain unidentified, while three others are in serious condition.

The attack, carried out by two terrorist shooters, left a scene of heartbreak and destruction. Inbar Segev Vigdar, a Pilates studio owner from Tel Aviv, was at the station with her 9-month-old infant when the assault began. Miraculously, her baby survived, thanks to her selfless bravery. Eyewitnesses described how she shielded her child with her body as gunfire erupted. Eric Marchenkov, a survivor of the attack, recalled the haunting image: “The mother hugged her baby… a miracle that the baby is alive.”

Another witness recounted the harrowing moments after Vigdar was shot: “We heard the baby screaming. We pulled him out of the carrier. One of the policemen took me and the baby to Wolfson Hospital.” Vigdar’s husband, Yaari, was unable to reach her and later found their dog wounded near the scene. He eventually located their infant son in the arms of a doctor at the hospital.

The other victims of this horrific attack also leave behind families devastated by loss. Shahar Goldman, from Lod, is survived by her husband Tai, her three sisters, and her parents. Revital Bronstein, a computer science graduate student from Bat Yam, had won several awards for her work in artificial intelligence. Nadia Sokolenko, a stylist from Tel Aviv, is survived by her husband and their six-year-old daughter, Maya. Ilya Nozadze, originally from Georgia, was a truck driver supporting his wife and two children, who remain in Georgia.

The attackers, identified as Mohammed Ragev and Hassin Tamimi, were illegal residents from Hebron. Armed with an M-16 and a knife, they launched their assault on innocent civilians, creating a lasting tragedy for these families and the nation.

Israel mourns the loss of these innocent lives and stands united against the senseless violence targeting its people. As the families of the victims grieve, the resilience of the nation is on display through the support and solidarity offered by fellow citizens.
